Why Forestry Mulching

  • Single-pass clearing: brush and small trees are cut and mulched in one pass, without a separate hauling step.
  • Mulch left on site feeds the soil: the mulch layer breaks down over time and returns organic matter to the ground.
  • No burn piles or hauling: debris is processed where it stands, so there is no burning and no truckloads of brush to remove.
  • Minimal ground disturbance: the mulcher works over the surface rather than digging and grading, so the ground underneath stays largely intact.
  • Selective clearing keeps the trees you want: trees and features you mark are left standing while the unwanted growth around them is removed.

The Cincinnati Forestry Mulching Standard

  • Free on-site estimates, itemized and in writing: you see what is included before any work begins.
  • One point of contact from estimate to final walkthrough: the person who walks your property with you stays with the job through completion.
  • Selective clearing: we keep the trees and features you mark.
  • Mulch left on site to protect soil and suppress regrowth.
  • Care around fences, structures, and property lines: work is planned around what is already there.
  • 2-Year Warranty: our work is backed by a 2-year warranty.
  • Clean finish: the property is left tidy and ready to use.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is forestry mulching?

Forestry mulching is a land-clearing method that uses a single machine, called a mulcher, to cut standing brush, saplings, and small trees and grind them into mulch in one pass. The mulch is left on the ground, where it protects the soil and suppresses new growth.

How much land can be cleared in a day?

That depends on the property. Light brush on flat, open ground goes faster than dense, tangled growth, steep slopes, or ground with limited access. During your free on-site estimate, we walk the property and give you a realistic sense of scope for your specific land, rather than a generic rate.

What size trees and brush can the mulcher handle?

As a general matter, forestry mulchers are built for brush, saplings, and smaller trees, and the exact size depends on the machine and the condition of the material. Larger trees, stumps, or storm-damaged timber may need a different approach, which we will discuss honestly during the walkthrough.

Do you haul debris away?

No. With forestry mulching, there is no debris pile to haul. The vegetation is ground into mulch and left on site, so there are no burn piles and no truckloads of brush leaving the property.

Can you clear selectively?

Yes. Selective clearing is one of the main reasons people choose mulching. You mark the trees and features you want to keep, and we clear around them, leaving the rest of the property open and usable.

What happens to the mulch?

The mulch stays on your property. It covers the cleared ground, helps protect the soil from erosion, retains moisture, and suppresses regrowth as it breaks down and feeds the soil over time.

How are estimates priced?

Estimates are free, on-site, itemized, and in writing. Pricing reflects the scope of your property: how much land is involved, how dense the growth is, the terrain and access, and the size of the trees and brush. The written estimate spells out what is included so there are no surprises.

Do I need permits?

Rules vary by location and by the type of work, so we recommend checking with your local jurisdiction before work begins if you are unsure. If you have questions about your property, bring them to the consultation and we can talk through what applies to your situation.

How soon can you start?

Start dates depend on current scheduling and the scope of your job. Contact us for a free estimate and we will discuss timing for your property during the consultation.

Is your work warrantied?

Yes. Our work is backed by a 2-year warranty.
